Press Releases from the BPFA
Press Release – November 2014
Our 2014 Firework Night Display went again very well – the weather was very kind and the turnout was equally good. Our facilities were used to the full with the bar, BBQ area and a fair ground ride in full swing.
Sincere thanks to Mr John Quince who again allowed us to use his farm for parking, this is very much appreciated. The Parish Council also support us by paying the insurance endorsement for the event, thank you.
Much support again from the Trustees and supporters because we could never put on an event of this size without continual volunteers, so again many thanks to all who helped out.
The cricket season is now finished and the youth football is well underway. This year because of the number of teams we are using the paddock behind the pavilion for the first time, thanks to Mr. Graham Carter for his approval for this, although this field is not up to the same standard as the playing field we do intend to invest in the future to bring this up to standard.
The pavilion is now closed except for private bookings but we may organise fund raising events so please keep an eye on the web page of face book.
The BPFA Trustees are now working to keep the facilities we have in the best condition as possible, we have set ourselves a very high standard and intend to keep this up this includes the playing field and pavilion. The pavilion has been decorated inside and out but we will continue to move forward and renew as we go along. We are short of storage so this is another area we are looking into.
The children’s play area and the Zip Wire & BMX track receive regular checks from BPFA trustees to ensure they are again up to the standard required by RoSPA. The seats etc. have had re-varnish this year in the play area again to keep up our high standards.
The defibrillator is now up and running so again this is a wonderful addition to the facilities of our village. Although this will not cost anything to run the equipment does need replacing periodically so once a year we will be holding a fund raising event for this to ensure we have the funding available when required.
We do have space for new Trustees so if anyone is interested please do let me know, also if you would like to join our ‘supporters group’ who help out at these events and when needed, please do contact me.
We also now have the ‘Vintage Tea Rooms’ running from the pavilion on Wednesday and Thursday’s which has been a great success for Sandra Smith, if you have not been up for lunch yet you really must!!
